About Reid

Reid leads Heron Martech as CEO. A brand-marketing veteran, he's helped found and build two prior technology companies, and he's the first conversation most customers have with Heron - the one who makes sure the relationship Heron promises is the relationship customers actually get.

Reid's career runs from agency branding and growth leadership into marketing technology. He led the brand-and-marketing agency that became the foundation for SharedVue, the channel-engagement platform he co-founded and scaled to 40,000+ partners, working with major technology companies including Cisco, Dell, HP, IBM, VMware, Salesforce, and Xerox. That history shapes how he runs Heron today: lean, honest, and relentlessly focused on whether customers are genuinely succeeding - not just live.

At Heron, Reid is the external face and the internal compass. He sets the direction, makes sure the company's values show up in every customer interaction, and stays close enough to every relationship to know when something isn't working. He believes Heron wins when its customers win - and he builds the business around that in every dimension.

What I focus on at Heron
  • Partnerships and strategic growth
  • Customer engagement and executive relationships
  • Company strategy and the Heron point of view
  • Making sure we lead with the customer's problem, not our product
Background

Reid has spent his career at the intersection of brand, marketing, and technology. He started in agency branding and growth, developing instincts for what makes communication actually land - and what makes clients genuinely successful, rather than just satisfied.

That foundation carried directly into SharedVue, where Reid helped build the company from an agency offering into a full channel-engagement platform, co-founded with John Brown. SharedVue scaled to serve over 40,000 active channel partners at some of the world's largest technology companies, and had two successful exits between 2006 and 2017. The experience sharpened Reid's view of what great engagement actually requires: technology that stays in its lane, people who stay close to customers, and a team that measures success in outcomes - not activity.

He co-founded Heron Martech in 2018 with the same partner and the same philosophy, rebuilt from scratch with the lessons intact and the platform architecture they'd always wished they'd had.

"Our reason for being is to give our customers the best, most current technology to engage their customers - and to make them successful in the process."
